What buyers pay for
Records of how real work gets done: support tickets and their resolutions, CRM and sales history, project and code history, SOPs and internal docs, and team chat. AI labs use it to teach models to do business tasks.
What makes it worth more
More years of history, more people using the tools, and more connected systems. Data a buyer can follow across chat, docs and operational tools is worth more than any one system alone.
You license it. You don't sell it.
You keep ownership and grant a buyer defined rights, such as training and evaluation only. That is also why the same data can earn more than once.
Exclusive or non-exclusive
Exclusive means one buyer only, so it should pay more up front. Non-exclusive lets you license the same data to other buyers later. Ask which one you're signing.
How you get paid
Common structures are a flat fee, an ongoing licence, usage-based pricing, or a revenue share. Some contracts combine an initial payment with later payouts. Those later amounts depend on the agreed terms, usage or completed licences.
What gets removed
Confirm who removes names, contact details and client identities, where that work happens, and what safeguards apply. Some buyers prepare records after transfer. Agree the process before providing anything.
